Since then I have become interested in nocturnal recording and now regularly monitor migrating birds at night. ![]() This has proved itself a superb bit of kit which has expanded my knowledge of avian vocalization considerably. Despite paying close attention to calls and learning as many as possible, the arrival of the internet saw a keening of my personal interest in birding acoustics and I finally got my recording equipment in March 2012, a Telinga Stereo Dat Mic/Pro8 handle, coupled to a Marrantz 661 Recorder. This naturally extended to bird calls and songs as a means of helping to find good birds in the field. I've been birding from a young age, have traveled widely and have always been keenly interested in bird identification. I'm an Irish birder currently living in Sweden.
